YMCA School Age Programs offer a fun, safe place for children in grades K-5 (age Limit 12) to start and end their day when your work schedule demands it. Each YMCA School Age site is supervised by trained, professional staff who provide a positive child care experience. YMCA School Age Child Care information can be found in the Program Guide. To view the entire Program Guide, visit the Program Guide link above.
Philosophy and Goals
The YMCA is committed to serving families. Our school age programs act as an extension to each family by providing support to both children and parents during the program hours. YMCA school age programs provide quality programs for children in healthy, caring, and safe environments.
Program Activities
Children enrolled at our YMCA school age programs are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities. Large motor activities enhance physical fitness, encourage sportsmanship and promote cooperative learning. Expanded curriculum includes: arts and crafts, science, service learning, health and fitness, homework support, literacy, character development and conflict resolution.
Year Round Care
Our staff are professionally trained, experienced individuals. All staff strive to provide a safe, fun and nuturing environment where your child can build social skills while interacting with other children. Staff are positive role models that seek to build character by promoting the YMCA four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Registration
Please complete and submit a registration packet and non-refundable registration fee per family. Packets are available at all YMCA Branches. Registrations are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis. There is a processing time of 3 business days from the time the registration and money is received before children may start the program. All sites have limited enrollment. Fall registration begins May 1st.
