Thanks, Jack Lussier

Like so many in our community, we reacted with great sadness at the news of John H. “Jack” Lussier’s passing on Friday, July 27. As he was with many nonprofits, schools and other institutions, Jack was incredibly generous to the YMCA of Dane County. Jack’s passion was helping others, and he was a strong supporter of our Y over many years. Today, we pay tribute to Jack’s life and philanthropic spirit by once again acknowledging all he did for our YMCA:

In addition to these special projects, Jack supported the YMCA through regular giving to our Annual Campaign and by creating a permanent endowment. Jack was also a regular attendee of our yearly, end-of-school ice cream socials and insisted on personally serving ice cream to all the kids! Because of Jack’s love and support for our Y, we added his name to our East and West facilities, re-christening them as the Lussier Family East and Lussier Family West YMCAs.

Jack was a fixture in our community. He loved Madison and its people and gave from his heart to make positive and enduring impacts in the lives of so many. Our organization is forever grateful to Jack’s generosity, and we are committed to using his many contributions to change lives, realize potential and continue to bind our community together through healthy living, youth development and social responsibility. We extend our condolences to the Lussier family and also thank them for sharing Jack with us for so many years.

Thank you, Jack; what a difference you’ve made for so many!
