10/29/08 Hi Everyone,
Great news today. The Hallway by the Family Locker-room up through the pool entrance will be reopening tomorrow 10/30 when the building opens at 5:15am. The last thing to happen will be the vinyl floor on the first floor and it sounds like they may start on Friday of this week and should be done by Friday November 7th.

10/24/08 Week of October 27th

1) The Men's and Girl's Locker-room are scheduled to be reopened on Monday October 27th.

2) The back hallway by the family locker-room up through the pool entrance door will be down for the floor to be finished. That project will take a full week. Family Locker-room and Studio will not be available. We will be rerouting people through the building to get to the Group Cycling Studio and Racquetball Court.

3) The flooring through the 1st floor commons area will begin.

Completion of East Renovations should be around November 5th.

10/10/08 As of Friday October 10th, there has been a lot of painting happening on the 1st floor. We have opened our stairwell with the new stairwell treads. Work is still continuing to be done in the Men's and Girl's Locker-room.

1) Week of October 13th ~ Epoxy floors are being laid in the locker rooms. Also, we are re-laminating the service desk area - which will happen on Thursday and Friday.

2) Week of October 20th ~ Men's and Girl's Locker room scheduled to be finished. Also the flooring throughout the 1st floor is scheduled to be laid.

3) Week of October 27th ~ Hallway from Family Locker room up though the pool entrance will be worked on (Epoxy Floor and Painting).

It appears that we are still on target to have final completion date as late October or November 1st.

10/1/08 Hi everyone, Here is an updated schedule but keep in mind that things continue to change from day to day.

1) Week of October 6th ~ They are planning to start laying the floor by the bathrooms, near Child Watch and through the activities rooms. They will also be putting down the tread floors in the stairwell next week. The spindle work in the main stairwell is being finished today. The laminate for the service desk is tentatively schedule to be worked on Thursday and Friday.

2) Week of October 13th ~ The epoxy floors are scheduled to go in the girls and men's locker room. Once the epoxy floors are done, they will lay the rest of the flooring in the commons area by the service desk. They are holding off on the floors by the service desk to make sure they don't damage them while the rest of the work is being done in the locker rooms.

~ Wally (Construction Foreman) is working with the flooring company to see if they will work at night to limit disruptions during our operating hours. We felt that would be great, if we can get them in working at night.

3) Week of October 20th ~ sometime this week, probably later end, they will be turning over the girl's and men's locker rooms to us.

4) Week of October 27th ~ laying the epoxy floor throughout the hallway by the family locker room up through the pool entrance.

9/26/08 Hi everyone, Here are renovations updates:

Men's and Girl's Locker room has been under demolition this past week. It appears that the construction crew is moving along nicely. The target date for all the renovations to be complete is late October. You may not be aware of it, but we added 8 new flat screen TV's to the lifestyle center! We also added new starting blocks and lane lines to the pool. That is it for now.

Reminder that we are having an Open House this Weekend. We are having special activities tonight from 6:30pm - 8:30pm.

9/19/08 Locker Room Update

Starting Monday September 22nd the Family Locker Room will be for females only. This temporary change will provide showers for our female members during the Girls Locker Room renovation, and will last approximately three weeks. We will keep you posted as things progress.

9/18/08 Renovation Updates

1) Our second floor is pretty much completed. There is just some touch up with some base boards at the bottom of some of the walls and some touch up with painting.

2) We are going to transition our locker rooms on Monday September 22nd. The Boys and Women's Locker rooms are finished and we will be closing down the Men's and Girls Locker rooms on the 22nd. The two additional locker rooms will take approximately 3 weeks to complete so we are probably looking at reopening those two sometime the week of October 13th.

3) It sounds like our new exposed stairwell will be finished up sometime next week (Spindle work and rubber treads for the stairs).

4) For the most part all that is left on the 1st floor, besides the locker rooms, are the commons area (painting and the flooring). Once the crew finishes the demo work on the two remaining locker rooms they will paint and lay the floor through out the commons area on the 1st floor.

It is looking like the final completion date will be close to the end of October. Please let me know if you have any questions. Once again, we as a staff we really appreciate your patience throughout this process. We are really looking forward to finish of this exciting new look to our facility!

9/5/08 Hey Everyone, Here is an update for you:

1) Boys and Women's Locker Room ~ Originally we where thinking completion date would be September 12. Being more realistic, it will probably be around September 19th. Once those locker rooms are completed they will begin with Men's and Girl's on Monday September 22nd.

2) On Monday September 8th at 8:00pm the crew will be working through the night and will be working on the main stairwell. The stairwell will have a more open look. They will be cutting out a portion of the concrete wall.

3) Ceiling and painting will be occurring on the 1st floor next week (Week of September 8th). Flooring would follow after that work is completed.

That is it for now. Members please be sure to stop in and see our expanded lifestyle center and new pool deck. We are fully operation throughout our building.

8/29/08 Hello everyone, As we are moving into Labor Day Weekend the renovations are coming along nicely. We have appreciated all our members patience with all the different routes we made you take throughout this process. On Tuesday September 2nd we should have all of our normal routes available. You will see some nice finishes to the second floor. Our gym and pool will be open on Tuesday the 2nd. All programs will be operational and should have there normal routes. If you stop by this weekend we have opened up our expanded lifestyle center. Have a wonderful holiday weekend and once again thanks for all of your patience.

8/27/08 They are putting our flooring in tomorrow on the second floor, so members can now enter through the front door to the service center. We also have towels available, as well as locker rooms.

8/22/08 On Monday August 25th Wally will be starting at 6:00am tearing out the first floor tile (floor) from boys locker room up to the service desk. They will block off the hallway with plastic right by the bathrooms by the child watch area. They will also block off the area by the service desk.
~ We will need to close the men's, family locker room, and Jack Splash from 5:15am - 1:00pm on Monday. Wally will move the blocked off are past the men's locker room once they are done tearing out the floor in that area. This means we will be able to reopen the Men's Locker room, Family, and Jack Splash at 1:00pm.
~ People will be able to still check in at the service desk to utilize the lifestyle center. We will route them up through the stairwell that is currently barricaded off.
~ If people want to use child watch we will route them through the back door. We will have a sign out in the parking lot to make this clear. We will also have an additional registration desk at the back entrance for all fall programs
~ Starting at 1:00pm all members wanting to use the men's locker room, family locker room, and Jack Splash will be routed through the back entrance.
~ Membership has signs made for the Men's locker room, family locker room, and Jack splash. The service desk will be communicating with Members through the weekend about the Monday August 25th 5:15am - 1:00pm scenario.

8/14/08 The Construction Crew is staying on schedule with the pool and we are right on target to be reopening the pool on Tuesday September 2nd.
~ The lifestyle center and new personal stretching work will be completed by Wednesday August 20th
~ Starting Monday August 18th the boy's and women's locker room will be closed for renovations. Boys will need to use the Men's locker room and the Women will need to use the girl's locker room.

8/6/08 Update: The Pool work began on Monday August 4th. The construction crew has been doing a great job tearing out the existing ceramic tile pool deck flooring. They just finished that portion of the work today. We have also had a painting company begin painting in the pool area.The tearing of the ceramic tile floor on the second floor is now complete. It has been mentioned by the construction company that we might have our Lifestyle Center addition (New Stretching/Personal Training Room) up and running by the week of August 18th.

7/31/08 Reminder; STARTING AUGUST 4th THE POOL WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE WHOLE MONTH OF AUGUST for renovations, and will reopen after Labor Day. Both the Northeast and West YMCA pools will be available, check the schedule page for their open dates and times.

7/25/08 The following is what is slated for next week (Week of July 28th): The construction crew will be tearing out all of the existing ceramic tile flooring on the second floor. Noise to be expected. As a reminder to all of our members that the pool will be down starting the Week of August 4 through Labor Day. We will be replacing the pool deck flooring and starting blocks along with our annual cleaning of the pool.

7/16/08 Hi everyone, Here are the following updates for you on the renovations:

1) Friday July 18th ~ The concrete floor will be poured in the new stretching/personal training room.

2) Saturday July 19th ~ The back hallway by the family locker room and racquetball court will reopen. The classes that we moved out of the Studio into the Activities Center will start back up in the Studio this Saturday. There will be access to the pool and Jacksplash throughout the back hallway.

3) Monday July 21st ~ The family locker room will reopen. The door to the family locker room will be locked until we open the building on Monday morning.

4) Week of July 21st ~ Starting towards the end of next week the construction crew will be chizzling up the existing ceramic tile flooring on the second floor. As we get closer to them working on the flooring we will plan out routes throughout the second floor.

7/10/08 The Back Hallway by the Family Locker Room will be closed off. This will effect the studio and the racquetball court. The studio and the racquetball court will not be available the week of July 14. All class participants in the studio will receive a contact as to where the class will be moved. Once again the racquetball court will not be available at all for the week of July 14th. There will still be accessibility for the boys to exit the their locker room to enter the pool side to get to the pool and JACKSPLASH.

6/26/08 Wally and his crew are staying isolated to the infill project for the rest of the week. The joist bars have arrived and they are working on installing them today. They may be working on the flooring as early as tomorrow. For next week, Wally said they will continue working on infill project but will start working on the two following areas in addition to the infill:
1. Back Hallway by the conference room ~ Replacing the drop ceiling and lighting.
2. Current Stretching Area (Lifestyle Center) ~ Tearing out the existing ceiling.
The ceiling will be an exposed look like it currently is in the lifestyle center. He will also start cutting the opening to the new personal stretching/personal training room. That’s it for now.

6/25/08 The construction has just started this week. The crew started on Monday. They are currently only working on the group cycling studio and are cutting holes in the walls to place the beams for the new intermediate floor. This will create an upper level now as well as the lower level. Lower level will continue to be the group cycling studio and the upper level will be a new personal stretching/personal training room.
